Job Description

The Portfolio Analytics & Insights Lead position comes with the opportunity to play a key role in transforming how the Infrastructure & Automation (I&A) organization leverages data to drive decision-making and demonstrate business impact at ServiceNow. This role will serve as the intelligence architect for the organization, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the analytics infrastructure, reporting frameworks, and insights capabilities that provide visibility into portfolio health, performance trends, and strategic outcomes.

An ideal candidate will blend data analytics expertise, business acumen, visualization design skills, and storytelling capability to transform raw data into actionable intelligence that informs leadership decisions and drives organizational performance. This role involves a range of key responsibilities, all aimed at creating a data-driven culture and enabling evidence-based portfolio management across I&A. As such, the candidate must balance technical analytics capabilities with strategic business context, combining analytical rigor with narrative clarity to illuminate what matters most.

Design, build, and continuously evolve the analytics and reporting ecosystem that enables I&A leadership to understand portfolio performance, identify trends, anticipate risks, and make informed investment decisions. Transform complex data into compelling insights and visualizations that drive action and accountabilityDesign and build comprehensive portfolio dashboards that provide real-time visibility into initiative health, resource utilization, delivery velocity, risk exposure, and business impact across the I&A landscapeDevelop analytics frameworks and measurement models that define how success is measured, tracked, and reported – including leading and lagging indicators, health scoring methodologies, and benefit realization tracking approachesOwn the data architecture for portfolio reporting, establishing data standards, defining source system integrations, ensuring data quality and integrity, and building automated data pipelines that minimize manual effortCreate executive-level insights and narratives by analyzing portfolio data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and strategic implications – translating metrics into meaningful business stories for leadership consumptionDesign and maintain the portfolio reporting calendar, establishing regular cadences for performance reviews, trend analysis, deep-dives, and strategic planning cycles with appropriate stakeholder audiencesPartner with business intelligence and data engineering teams to leverage enterprise analytics platforms, integrate I&A portfolio data with broader organizational systems, and build scalable reporting solutionsEstablish self-service analytics capabilities by building intuitive dashboards, creating user guides, and enabling stakeholders to access and interpret data independently while maintaining governance and consistencyConduct ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic decisions, business case development, capacity planning, and investment prioritization discussionsDrive continuous improvement of analytics capabilities by gathering stakeholder feedback, identifying gaps in current reporting, exploring emerging analytics technologies, and evolving the insights ecosystem to meet changing needsSupport executive presentations by providing data-driven content, compelling visualizations, and analytical narratives that inform leadership decision-making and organizational storytellingDefine and track portfolio KPIs in partnership with governance and strategy leads, ensuring metrics are aligned to business outcomes, properly instrumented, and consistently reportedDemonstrate flexibility in responding to urgent data requests and shifting analytical priorities while maintaining the integrity and sustainability of core reporting infrastructure

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry6+ years of experience in business analytics, portfolio analytics, business intelligence, or data visualization roles within technology organizations, consulting firms, or enterprise analytics functionsAdvanced proficiency in analytics and visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar), with demonstrated ability to design intuitive, executive-level dashboards and interactive reporting solutionsStrong technical data skills: Experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL/data pipeline concepts, and working with multiple source systems to create integrated analytical viewsProven expertise in measurement framework design, including defining KPIs, building scorecards, developing health metrics, and establishing benefit realization tracking methodologiesBusiness acumen and strategic thinking: Ability to understand organizational context, connect data to business outcomes, and translate analytical findings into strategic recommendationsExceptional storytelling and communication skills: Proven ability to transform complex data into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with executive audiences and drive decision-makingExperience with portfolio or organizational data: Background working with initiative tracking data, resource utilization metrics, delivery performance indicators, or similar organizational datasetsDetail-oriented with quality mindset: Strong commitment to data accuracy, validation, and governance while balancing speed and pragmatism in deliveryCollaborative and consultative approach: Demonstrated ability to partner with diverse stakeholders to understand analytical needs, gather requirements, and deliver solutions that solve real business problemsSelf-starter with analytical curiosity: Proactive in identifying data opportunities, exploring new analytical techniques, and continuously improving insights capabilities without detailed direction

Additional desired qualifications:

Familiarity with ServiceNow platforms and Go-to-Market operations data, or similar enterprise technology environments Experience with Anaplan, SPM systems, or enterprise resource planning analytics Experience supporting transformation initiatives through data and analytics BA/BS degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree 

 

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $112,200 - $196,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
