The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring aPort of Entry (POE) Area Supervisorto join our teamlocated in District 4, Delco/Hollister, ID. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, ability to lead a team, and be customer focused. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while implementing rules and regulations.
Note: This position requires a driver's record check and criminal background check before a final job offer is made.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
+ Plans, organizes, and directs the work of inspectors assigned to fixed/Mobile ports-of-entry and satellite facilities
+ Prepares area schedules and assigns staff; evaluates performance, supervises employee orientation and training
+ Organizes and conducts staff meetings
+ Assists in developing policies and procedures
+ Prepare financial reports and monitor budget requests
+ Reviews and consolidates incident reports and requests for equipment and supplies
+ Coordinates and partners with departments of law enforcement, the trucking industry, emergency services, and other state agencies
+ Works with other states to develop joint port-of-entry activities
+ Investigates complaints and provides resolution
+ Prepares testimony and testifies in court
+ Consolidate fees collected from temporary/special permits, registrations, licenses, citations, and tax assessments
+ Monitors financial transactions including reviewing reports of cash discrepancies and recommending solutions
+ May issue permits, registrations, and licenses
+ Responds to and assesses emergency situations
+ Relays information to proper jurisdictions or agencies in the event of accident, dangerous or hazardous occurrences
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
+ Supervising staff
+ Assessing work processes and developing and implementing operational procedures
+ Analyzing, interpreting and applying laws and regulations
+ Valid driver's license
