DepartmentLogisticsPositionPort Load MasterLocationKarachi QualificationBachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, project management, or similar preferred.ExperienceMinimum 5 years’ experience as a logistics/ transportation operation, preferably in port handling or marine cargo operations.RequirementsKnowledge of port regulations and procedures.Superb leadership and interpersonal skills.Exceptional organizational and time management skills.Self-motivated and show decision-making skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Willingness to provide operational support outside of business hours.Willingness to travel out-station in case of cargo damage during accidents.ResponsibilitiesThe Load Master will be responsible for overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo   at the port and/ or other dispatch/ storage locations/ warehouse(s).Ensure that all procedures are carried out safely and efficiently.Work closely with the clearing agent and Logistics Service Provider(s), , port authorities, and other stakeholders to coordinate the process.Be responsible for ensuring that all relevant regulations and safety standards are adhered to.Manage the loading and unloading of cargo using cranes, conveyor belts, or other equipment at port.Verify cargo quantities and maintain accurate recordkeeping throughout the operation.Laison with the transport team to ensure the right sort of vehicle is placed for the right dimensions and type of cargo.Laison with the Clearing agent to ensure all documentation is in place to clear the cargo from port.Laison with the Import/ Export & Clearence team to ensure that the vessel arrival is on time and that all documentation related to vessel berthing is in place.Laison with stevedore to ensure that cargo operations are being handled smoothly and the right equipment is available for the cargo handling at port.Report any cargo damage, discrepancies, or safety incidents to the Transportation team and recommend corrective actions.
