NPL now have following Operator Positions within the Processing Department. The successful candidates will join a dynamic processing team and will be required to perform responsibilities to a high standard

Operator – Grinding  Operator – Paste   Operator – Concentrator  Operator -  Autoclaves

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Area Supervisor – Processing the incumbent will be responsible for efficient operations and maintenance of all equipment at the processing department to ensure efficient processing, safety, and environmental compliance. 

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

A minimum of Grade 10 and above Education  Completed Job Ready Program and Traineeship with Processing (Bonus) More than 2 years’ experience in a processing plant Good understanding of processing plant operations and safety standards. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels Willing to take instructions, learn and respond with urgency Willing to work with minimum supervision The incumbent should also be able to perform at peak capacity in high pressure situations and be totally committed to safety at all times

 

Key Responsibilities:

As an Operator, you will:

Operate and maintain operation of all equipment in the area of responsibility. Conduct general safety inspections in area of responsibility. Trouble-shoot, report faults and taking the necessary remedial and corrective action in the area of responsibility. Ensure all daily logsheets, checksheets filled out correctly and any variance to the Operating targets are reported immediately to the Area Supervisor. Confer with Area Supervisor, Process Trainers and Plant Metallurgists regarding day to day operation of the process. Assist Area Supervisor with constructive ideas to maximise production in the area of responsibility. Confer with Area Supervisor to gain knowledge of work area requiring preventative or remedial training for trainee operators Ensure all environmental and safety standards and policies are being met.  Ensure all security procedures are followed.  Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & Procedures

Mobilization Requirements

Must have an up-to-date Police clearance certificate (acquired within the last 6 months) Be a Local Porgerean Candidate (Cat 1A – SML 1B – LMP or Cat 2 -Other Porgera) and available to start immediately Rotation is 14 Days on and 7 Days off including weekends 12hours Day/Night shift Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
