NPL now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual to join the Mobile Maintenance Department as a Supervisor – Light Vehicle Workshop.
About the role
Reporting to the Foreman – Mobile Services, the successful candidate will be required to assist the Tradesman, Trades Assistant and Contractors to carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner, performing the following duties and responsibilities as required.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supervisor – Light Vehicle Workshop, you will:
Supervise daily operations of the Light Vehicle Workshop and ensure all repairs and services are carried out to standard. Able to support the Foreman by constantly revising job procedures for continuous improvement Plan, allocate, and monitor maintenance tasks to meet production and safety targets. Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, tools, and workshop equipment. Maintain accurate service and maintenance records. Guide the team in Completion of Tasks, to ensure achievement of the shift plan Day to day problems is readily dealt with by the generating of range of solutions for consideration by the Foreman Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner and other supervisors for parts, materials, and scheduling. Actively participate in the development of on-the-job training plans for tradesmen, apprentices and Trade Assistants (TAs). Identify the risks in their work area and using the correct controls Ability to sort priorities and act in a reasonable time frame. Good communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively across all levels are desirable Must have an understanding and comply with the maintenance performance Indices (KPI’s) Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & ProceduresQualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need.
Have minimum of five (5) years’ hands-on working experience as a qualified tradesman in light vehicle maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leading hand role. Strong understanding of maintenance planning, diagnostics, and reporting systems. Skilled in rebuilding electrical components relative to your trade The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagnose faults The ability and willingness to train and develop local unskilled employees. Sound technical, planning and organizational skills. Proficient computer skills [Microsoft Office] with the ability to navigate Integrated Management Systems Proven leadership skills, lead with conviction, ability to build and foster a strong team environment. Ability to effectively communicate through both Seniors and Sub-ordinates Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a safety-conscious manner. Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. Experience with SAP computer systems and workflow management.Mobilization Requirement
