The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Senior Engineer – Electrical Engineering.

About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent – Capital Engineering, the Senior Engineer – Electrical Engineering you will play a critical role in ensuring consistent electrical engineering support across all project phases. This position exists to maintain engineering continuity on site, preventing project delays due to lack of electrical progress.

In this role, you will:

Prepare technical documents, including specifications and drawingsDeliver detailed electrical engineering calculationsProvide engineering input and reviews for design documents and drawingsProduce technical drawings using AutoCADSupport package engineering and procurement activitiesManage external engineering companies/consultants during design stagesDevelop Scopes of Work (SOW), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), standards, and specificationsProvide technical support during project preparation and executionCommunicate effectively with contractors and project stakeholdersMaintain project administration folders and document control proceduresConduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plansUphold high standards of health and safety in alignment with NPL OHS policiesAssist with feasibility and prefeasibility studiesConduct condition assessments

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 4 years’ experience in electrical design engineering (design experience is essential)IEPNG registration, or eligibility to registerStrong knowledge of Australian & PNG electrical standardsProven experience managing multiple engineering projects concurrentlyProficiency in AutoCADExperience in engineering project management and project process flowsStrong technical/engineering design backgroundExcellent communication, coordination, and documentation skillsStrong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices

 

Mobilization Requirement

This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
