OPERATOR – LOGISTICS - PORGERA (2110)
New Porgera Limited (NPL) has an immediate vacancy for the position of Operator – Logistics, Porgera Depot within the Logistics Section of the Supply and Business Services Department. Reporting to the Specialist, Senior – Logistics, the successful candidate will operate designated warehouse equipment including including 35T forklift, IT forklift, 2.5T–3T forklift, Twin Steer Trucks, Hino trucks, Dyna, taxi, and more, ensuring adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), environmental policies, and health & safety requirements.
This role is primarily based in Porgera. Applicants should either be local Porgera residents or able to arrange their own accommodation in the valley. The role operates on a 20 days on / 8 days off roster.
Key Responsibilities
As an Operator – Logistics, you will:
Operate designated warehouse equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre-start checks and maintain machinery to ensure operational readiness.
Load and unload incoming and outgoing cargo.
Carry out mine site deliveries as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Promote and comply with NPL’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Environmental policies.
Always maintain a high level of health and safety awareness.
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need;
Relevant current PNG Driver’s License, Class 7 & Class 4 (to operate a Twin Steer).
Current operating permits for 32T Forklift, CAT IT 28, and CAT IT 38.
Proven experience operating similar warehouse and mining equipment.
Basic mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
Good communication skills and accuracy in handling documents.
Stable and reliable employment history.
Understanding of the PNG Transport Industry.
Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to safety.
Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions.
Mobilization Requirements
