The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for Operator Equipment (Excavator) – Processing

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Area Supervisor in the Processing Department, the Operator Equipment (Excavator) – Processing is responsible in operating hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently in accordance with mine plans and production targets.

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

3–5 years’ experience operating diggers/excavators in a mining or large construction environment

Certificate of competency or relevant operator ticket

Valid and current PNG Class Seven (Heavy Equipment) operator license 

Strong understanding of safety standards and hazard awareness

Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Good communication skills and a strong team mindset

 

Key Responsibilities:

As an Operator, Equipment (Excavator), you will:

Operate hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently in accordance with mine plans and production targetsConduct daily pre-start checks and report any defects or hazardsMaintain effective communications with Supervisors and ensure scheduled tasks are completed in a timely mannerWork collaboratively with control room operators and other equipment operatorsLoad dump trucks or other equipment safely while maintaining optimal cycle timesMaintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work areaAdhere to all NPL safety protocols, policies, and proceduresFollow NPL Traffic Management Standard and Site Security ProtocolsWork in a manner that will not endanger self or any other person and communicate effectively across all levels.Maintain high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures.
