New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking an experienced and practical Development Foreman to join our underground mining team. This is a frontline leadership role, working directly with jumbo, bogger, charge up, and service crews to deliver safe and efficient mine development. If you’ve spent years underground and know what it takes to get the job done safely and on time, this role is for you.
We want a hands-on leader—someone who can work alongside their team, make quick decisions in the field, and keep the development cycle moving. A formal qualification is an advantage, but proven operational experience and leadership skills are what matter most.
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of underground mining experience, with at least 5 years supervising development crews(a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or Trade Certificate is an advantage, but not essential) Strong knowledge of the full development cycle – jumbo drilling, ground support, charging, blasting and ventilation Proven ability to lead teams in the field, maintain productivity, and enforce safety standards Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor crews Understanding of PNG Mine Safety Act and Regulations Valid PNG driver’s license (desirable)Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise development crews underground to achieve daily and weekly targets Monitor and manage jumbo, bogger, charge up and service crews on shift Ensure compliance with ground support standards and safe drilling/blasting practices Conduct pre-start meetings and regular workplace inspections Coordinate with mine planning, maintenance, and engineering to keep work on schedule Maintain accurate shift reports and development progress records Coach and mentor team members to build capability and performanceWhy this Role?

Mobilization Requirements:
FIFO roster: 21 days on / 14 days off Must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening Must hold a current Police Clearance Certificate (issued within the last 6 months)
