As a Mine Dispatch Engineer, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of mining activities. Your expertise in dispatch systems, resource coordination, communication management, and data analysis contribute significantly to optimizing productivity and minimizing risks. By effectively managing resources and fostering a culture of safety and compliance, you help drive the success of the mining operation.
The ideal candidate must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Previous experience in mine operations, dispatching, or logistics preferred
• Proficiency in dispatch software and tracking systems, especially Modular
• Strong Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining operations
• Strong background in Excel, Power-BI and reporting will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and maintain dispatch systems to track equipment, vehicles, and personnel movements in real-time
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of dispatch software and hardware components
• Conduct regular system updates and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise
• Coordinate the allocation of resources including trucks, loaders, drills, and personnel to various work areas based on production schedules and priorities
• Optimize resource utilization to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
• Monitor equipment availability and schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruptions
• Work with dispatchers to establish and maintain effective communication channels with operators, supervisors, and other stakeholders to relay instructions, updates, and alerts
• Provide timely information regarding operational status, potential hazards, and changes in work plans
• Analyse dispatch data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
• Generate regular reports on key performance indicators such as equipment utilization, cycle times, and productivity
• Collaborate with management to develop strategies for enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Promote a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and compliance with the NPL Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
