Pool & Beach Attendant - Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino

A Pool and Beach/ Activities Attendant is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe and fun environment for guests at the pool in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Ensures guest satisfaction by delivering product quality and consistency and executing excellence through the entire guest experience. Give personalized guest service and maximize customer satisfaction in the Pool & Beach Department.


What will I be doing?
As a Pool and Beach/ Activities Attendant, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Issues or rents, towels, umbrellas, pool and beach chairs, palapas, cabanas and similar items.

Unfold chairs, blankets and umbrellas and set them up at sunrise.

Keeps pool and beach area clean.

Picks up rubbish along beach or near pool.

Keep chair, palapas and cabana reservations in line.

Collect towels for laundering.

Folds and stores chairs, blankets, and umbrellas at sundown.

 

Provides courteous, efficient service to all pool and beach customers:

Caters to customers while personalizing their experience.

Assists customers with towels and other pool and beach needs.

Assists customers with hotel and local activities information.

Adds to the customer experience through a smile and engaging guest in conversation.

Upholds the highest standards of service at all times.

Enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.

Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property specific process to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.

Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.

Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.

Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.

Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.

Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities, including assisting visually, hearing, or physically-impaired individuals within guidelines (e.g., escorting them when requested, using words to explain actions, writing directions on paper, moving objects out of the way).

Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.

Monitors quality, standards and meets the expectations of the guests on a daily basis including proper chair and cabana organization, ensuring guests are greeted by name and escorted to respective palapa or cabana and serviced accordingly with towel and chair setup. Ensure services such as sunglass polishing and chilled towels are available and delivered as per schedule.

       Ensures customer satisfaction by maintaining a clean, safe pool and beach area:

General beach maintenance and cleaning is involved.

Reports any necessary repairs to engineering using maintenance requests.

Maintains current certification in CPR.

Assist individuals with disabilities.

Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.

Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.

Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).

Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.

Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and Security personnel.

Maintain awareness of suspicious activity and report any such activity to a manager/supervisor.

Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.

Responsible for the upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance of activities materials and supplies.

Informs supervisor immediately when items need replacement, repair or additional supplies needed.

 

Supportive Functions:

All interactions with Hilton Worldwide team members, clients and partners should occur in a courteous manner.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
