Contribute to Novant Health's mission of improving the health of communities, one person at a time, by providing high-quality imaging services. 🔍 What You’ll Do: Clinical Leadership & Coordination + Manage and coordinate patient sleep studies: set up and calibrate polysomnography equipment, monitor "lights out" procedures, ensure data quality and artifact-free recordings, and execute interventions when needed. + Provide guidance and support to other sleep techs during the shift, allocating tasks appropriately and ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care. 🛠 Policy, Procedures & Equipment Management + Assist in developing, maintaining, and enforcing department policies and standard operating procedures. + Monitor inventories, ensure all equipment is maintained, troubleshoot malfunctions, and request technical support when necessary. ✅ Training & Competency + Ensure all staff complete generic and department-specific competency validation. + Potentially mentor or train new or less experienced techs, including pediatric polysomnography and advanced titration modalities. 🌙 Shift-Specific Responsibilities + Responsible for delivering “the most remarkable patient experience”—including fostering teamwork, inclusivity, and maintaining patient safety under the principle of “First Do No Harm.” + Lead within a flexible nighttime schedule, as sleep studies often run overnight. 🎓 What We’re Looking For: + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Two year college preferred or related health field experience, required. + Experience: Three years of experience, required. + Licensure/Certification: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Registered with NC Medical Board. Required. + Additional skills required: + Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; good communication skills, medical terminology, previous experience with computers, manual dexterity and capacity to deal with visual concepts; initiative and judgement to proceed with work without constant supervision; high degree of patience and understanding in dealing with unusual situations; ability to work flexible nighttime schedule; basic ECG reconition; advanced understanding of the concepts of polysomnography. + Demonstrates effective leadership skills to facilitate patient care delivery. Assist in development and maintenance of department policies and procedures. Maintains inventory and assures equipment is in operating condition. Coordinates and allocates technical team appropriately.
