IU Health is looking for team members who are compassionate, serve with a purpose, are dedicated to supporting their team, and who seek excellence every day. Our Polysomnographic Department has an opening for a Technologist at our Arnett Sleep Lab.
As a Sleep Lab Technologist, you will perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and may provide supervision of other staff. You will also be responsible for preparing patient equipment for testing, interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain pre and post testing procedures. Additionally, you will perform and document testing per lab protocols, monitor patients throughout testing, and assist with scoring and generating reports.
As a Sleep Lab Technologist, you will be required to maintain credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the BRPT or ABSM or Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NRCA or NBRC or Certified Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC, though RRT preferred.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate's Degree is preferred.Requires 1-3 years of experience.Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC or Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.Must obtain certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or certification as a Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) within 2 years of date of hire.Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.The Polysomnographic Department at IU Health offers our team members opportunities to develop and grow their skills and scope of practice in Polysomnographic testing.
