Job Description:

Provides technical and program leadership for the Allina Health Sleep Clinical Service Line, overseeing key programs including the A-STEP training program, AASM Network Accreditation, and the Quality Assurance program. Partners with leadership and staff to develop and maintain and ensure safe and effective operations in alignment with departmental policies and procedures.

The Quality Assurance program encompasses continuing education, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on standards set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), Minnesota Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Principle Responsibilities

Serves as the A-Step Program Leader.Coordinates and manages program introductory course and training.Leads additional instructors providing didactic and practical instruction to students.Partners with Clinical Director to ensure program meets AASM accreditation standards.Maintains compliance with regulatory standards, including AASM, Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), HIPPA, OSHA, Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), and other relevant agencies.Monitors changes in regulatory standards.Educates and implements changes as identified.Assures sleep centers are meeting AASM standards as a member of the Allina Health Network accreditation.Leads AASM Network reaccreditation.Planning for Quality and Performance Improvement.Assures efficient operation of program for patients, providers and staff needs.Maintains working knowledge of sleep practices and programming.Maintains thorough knowledge of current policies and procedures.Participates in meetings and committees as appropriate.Collects data through reports and auditing to provide quarterly quality assurance report including performance improvement and trending.Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Associate's or Vocational degree or, successful completion of a polysomnography program with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility-Sleep (Polysomnographic) Technology5+ years as a Polysomnographic Technologist with documented proficiency in all required competencies including conducting sleep studies and test scoring


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree-Clinical Health area


Licenses/Certifications

BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hireBoard Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) upon hire

Sedentary:Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $37.67 to $51.63 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
