Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Polysom Technician to join our team. As a Polysom Tech, you will perform diagnostic sleep procedures per physician orders and established protocols.

Every day you will set up the lab, prepare patients, conduct and evaluate polysomnograms, score sleep staging, assist with data tabulation, and monitor/adjust equipment.

To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of sleep monitoring equipment, maintain skills through education, and participate in quality assurance under Sleep Lab Manager supervision, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

Performs, observes, and records daytime and overnight sleep/EEG procedures under supervision of Sleep Lab Manager.Scores sleep study results and generates reports for interpretation by physician.Completes all required documentation in accordance with department protocol.Maintains laboratory with supplies and keeps equipment in clean operating condition.Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of communication tools/materials for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services. Patient Population Served: Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the department’s defined specific populations served.
Job Requirements

Required

Successful completion of an American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) accepted educational program leading to an Associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography. ORSuccessful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and /or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities ANDCertification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
