**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Senior Utilities Engineer** to join our **Program Management/Construction Management (PMCM)** team. The successful candidate will lead the planning, design, and execution of **utility diversion** activities for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of utility systems, engineering design, and regulatory compliance, as well as the ability to manage complex utility coordination efforts with multiple stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the design and engineering of utility diversion plans, including the relocation, protection, and modification of utility infrastructure (e.g., water, sewer, gas, electricity, telecommunications).
+ Review and approve utility design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
+ Ensure utility designs are integrated into the overall project plans and meet engineering standards.
+ Collaborate with utility providers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and agreements.
+ Act as the primary technical liaison between the project team and utility companies to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment.
+ Develop and manage utility diversion schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
+ Monitor progress and ensure utility-related activities are completed on time and within budget.
+ Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and construction teams.
+ Identify potential risks and conflicts related to utility infrastructure and develop mitigation strategies.
+ Conduct site investigations and utility conflict analyses to ensure smooth project execution.
+ Ensure all utility diversion activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as project-specific requirements.
+ Conduct quality assurance reviews of utility work to ensure adherence to design and safety standards.
+ Maintain accurate records of utility agreements, permits, design changes, and as-built documentation.
+ Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility engineering, with at least 5 years focused on utility diversion for large infrastructure projects.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
+ Strong knowledge of utility systems, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), and construction processes.
+ Familiarity with utility permitting, regulatory requirements, and coordination with utility providers.
+ Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
