Key Responsibilities

You'll install, maintain, and repair plumbing and oil heating systems including boilers, pumps, valves, and cylinders. You'll carry out planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance, ensuring all systems meet safety and compliance standards such as COSHH, Legionella, and Asbestos. You'll interpret technical drawings, complete accurate documentation, and liaise with clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality service. Working safely in hazardous environments and contributing to continuous improvement will be key parts of your role.

Essential Qualifications & Experience NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Gas Safe registered and ACS certified (LPG Commercial) OFTEC qualified City & Guilds qualifications in relevant disciplines EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating CITB training qualifications GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths Minimum 2 years' experience in plumbing or a related role Proven background in maintenance or facilities management Full, clean UK driving licence Ability to obtain MOD Basic Security Clearance Desirable Qualifications & Experience Authorised Person (Electrical) qualifications ATEX/DESEAR/COMPEX trained and certified 18th Edition City & Guilds IEE Wiring Regulations City & Guilds 2391 Electrical Testing & Inspection Unvented qualification (G3) with practical experience IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety qualification Skilled Persons Register eligibility Experience in MOD environments Knowledge of Water Supply Regulations and Legionella control (L8) Personal Attributes Positive, proactive, and dependable team player Strong problem-solving and communication skills Committed to delivering quality work first time Physically fit and capable of manual handling Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently IT literate (Excel, Word, Outlook) Willing to undertake additional training and continuous learning
