The Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman provides leadership, support, and oversight to a team of journeyman plumbers, ensuring efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and piping systems critical to the health, safety, and comfort of university students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include reading complex blueprints, troubleshooting, and performing limited administrative tasks. Minimum Qualifications Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Four years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Assign and inspect work of plumbers and pipefitters. + Oversee plumbing installations, repairs, and alterations. + Inspect sites and review plans to estimate time, materials, and costs. + Requisition materials and maintain project cost/time records. + Read and interpret blueprints. + Approve leave and track employee time. + Evaluate employee performance. + Install, repair, and maintain interior and exterior natural gas lines, valves, and regulators. + Maintain and replace sewer and drain lines (copper, lead, PVC, glass, cast iron); clear blockages. + Locate and mark utility lines (water, sewer, gas) for Louisiana One Call. + Install and maintain steam systems, valves, traps, heat exchangers, and temperature regulators. + Install, repair, and monitor natural gas and electric water heaters; service control valves and regulators. + Maintain and replace water lines (copper, steel, ductile iron, PVC, PEX); test and recertify backflow devices; service valves and filters. + Install, maintain, and repair pressure booster pumps, hot water circulating pumps, and sump pumps. + Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures, fittings, faucets, and valves. + Maintain vehicles and equipment. + Assist with general cleanup and housekeeping tasks. + Participate in ongoing training and cross-trade work assignments as needed. + Complete all documentation (e.g., work orders, petty cash, requisitions) by the next business day.
