Engineering Enablement & Solutions is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to be the Collins Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System Lead, leading the PLM System which is a critical digital information management system leveraged by the Collins Engineering workforce. The Collins PLM system is central to the overarching Collins Connected Engineering System, the comprehensive digital system leveraged by the 20,000+ engineers across Collins Aerospace. The Collins Engineering workforce is composed of 9 STEM families, and the Collins Connected Engineering System will enable all 9 STEM families to unlock their skills and strengths through holistic capability enablement solutions. The need to modernize and transform this system is real, but so is the need to maintain execution excellence with the current configuration. This Senior Principal Systems Engineer is responsible for championing systems engineering practices and principles into the architecture, design, development, verification, validation, and management of all configurations of the Collins PLM system within the Collins Connected Engineering System. The engineer who fills this role will be accountable for development and maturation of the systems engineering artifacts for the Collins PLM system and ensure the Collins PLM system meets the functional and non-functional requirements of its consumers and stakeholders. The engineer who fills this role will leverage agile processes and an agile mindset for workflow management and provide PLM-centric technical leadership to internal and external stakeholders. **_**This is a hybrid role that requires proximity to a major Collins Aerospace site.**_** **What YOU will do:** **You will champion** modern systems engineering practices and principles for the development and management of the Collins PLM System through: + Adherence and enforcement of the EES Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). + Incorporation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods into the lifecycle management of the PLM System. + Incorporation of Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) Enterprise Architecture (EA) industry standards into the lifecycle management of the Collins PLM System. + Accountability for Architecture Governance of the Collins PLM System. **You will own** the creation of model-based systems artifacts for the Collins PLM System, such as: + SysML and UAFML architecture and design artifacts. + Stakeholder Requirements. + Model-based Functional & Non-Functional System Level Requirements. + System Engineering artifact traceability relationships. + Verification & validation cases & procedures. + System risks & opportunities. + Formal and informal review artifacts. **You will strategize** the development priorities of the Collins PLM System, via: + Adhering to the Agile work management system for the Collins PLM System. + Ownership of the Collins PLM System systems engineering artifact backlog. + Intake multiple stakeholder viewpoints to deliver an optimal Collins PLM System aligned to all stakeholder needs. + Prioritization of the Collins PLM System backlogs, to enable the development teams to develop the right solution at the right time, the right way. + Participate in quarterly Program Increment Planning Events and the continually recurring Agile ceremonies. + Bring a continuous improvement, growth mindset approach to drive iterative improvements to our deliverables and to our execution approaches. **You will lead** Engineering Enablement & Solutions from a technical perspective by: + Championing industry standards & best practices of systems engineering across the EES directorate + Channeling soft skills to cultivate a technical, systems-mindset culture shift across the EES organization + Communicating and collaborating with key executive stakeholders on strategic, architectural aspects of the Collins PLM System + Mentoring EES employees regarding the Systems Engineering Discipline **What will YOU Learn:** + Bleeding edge digital engineering industry trends, including the latest in digital threads, digital twins, integrated digital environments, model-based enterprises, DevSecOps, Cloud Computing and more. + The expansive portfolio of engineering products, programs and efforts across Collins Aerospace. + Advancements in data science, data analytics, AI/ML, business intelligence, and the increasing importance of data management & governance. **Qualifications YOU Must Have:** + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
