Your new role

As an Automation Project Engineer, you will secure the implementation of Siemens PLC automation systems and later be part of the maintenance organization supporting API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) manufacturing operations. We are therefore looking for a skilled engineer with a desire to support the delivery of cutting-edge automation solutions and achieve strong systems knowledge. In this role it is key to have an operational mindset  whilst securing the delivery of the PLC systems.

You will be responsible for:

Identifying key risks, defining requirements, and ensuring the PLC systems  are designed in a robust, reliable and compliant manner. Providing governance to the design, implementation, and testing to ensure alignment with internal stakeholders and suppliers on the project . Maintaining a high focus on effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, our external partners, and other automation organizations across API manufacturing. Providing on-call support going into operations as part of the 24/7 maintenance organization.

 

Your main work location will be in Kalundborg, in proximity  to the manufacturing sites. As a lot of our collaboration partners work around Copenhagen, it is expected that you will also travel to work in those locations.

 

The project is of great strategic importance to Novo Nordisk, which has high visibility and support from Senior Management. At the same time, you will have a foot inside Novo Nordisk’s IT organization which supports all major expansion projects as well as operations.

In CMC & Product Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.

The IT and Automation Department is made up diverse team made up of individuals with a variety of nationalities and professional experiences. The team atmosphere is very inclusive and the team members support each other in getting acclimated to Novo Nordisk and life in Kalundborg. You will find the team inviting and collaborative in finding solutions and supporting each other’s tasks. Due to the fast pace of project life, our team is very dynamic and is able to shift priorities in order to support project milestones.

 

 

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an ambitious and proactive colleague who can contribute to the team both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in most of the following skills and experiences:

You hold an M.Sc. or B.Sc. within IT, Engineering, or hold relevant industry experience from recent job(s) 2-5+ years of professional industry experience within IT / Automation; either from operations and maintenance, or from project participation Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and requirements. Experience within the Pharma industry or other highly regulated industry (GMP) is preferred Experience  and knowledge in Siemens Industrial Automation Technologies - PLC SIMATIC S7 1200/1500, TIA portal, ProfiNet, WinCC, OPC UA, and HMI is preferred Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Danish language skills considered a valuable advantage
