Job Description Insight global is seeking a Platform Engineer to join a large retail client Hybrid in Vancouver BC. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and building scalable platform services and implementing system-wide event-driven architecture using MACH+ principles. Your work will center around middleware development, leveraging technologies such as AWS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, C++, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools like Datadog. You’ll collaborate with Business transformation technology teams to support the development of customer-facing websites and mobile applications. In parallel, you’ll work closely with downstream teams—including web, app, and customer service—to ensure seamless integration and performance. On the upstream side, you’ll interface with enterprise systems like SAP and ERP to align platform capabilities with business operations. Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in designing, deploying, and debugging distributed systems in a cloud-first environment, applying best practices in microservices architecture, caching, security, and API schema design. You’ll also contribute to automated testing, third-party API integrations, and continuous delivery workflows, while proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain system reliability and scalability. Skills and Requirements Must Haves: • 3-5 years experience building platform services and event-driven architecture using MACH+ principles in an Agile environment • Strong working experience in a Cloud first design environment with AWS, Azure or GCP (with a proficiency in cloud first design and deployment) • Experience with DynamoDB and DocumentDB (NoSQL databases) • Strong technical experience with C# • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code • Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs, OAuth 2.0, headless solutions • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines • Experience with Datadog for observability and monitoring • Experience with Kubernetes for containerization • Strong ability to ask questions, advocate for their opinions, and work collaboratively with cross funcitonal teams Plusses: • Java or Golang best practices / proficency • Strong AWS specific cloud experience • Retail experience and coming from the following companies (lululemon, REI, Nordstrom, Starbucks, Canadian tire). null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
