What a Platform Development Manager (Contract Role) does at HP:
This would be a Fixed Term Contract role with benefits (Initially 2 years with the possibility of extension based on project requirement).
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 7 years in product or platform development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing notebook or related hardware programs.Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of product architecture, HW/SW co-design, system integration, and platform-level decision-making.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead diverse, global teams and drive execution across multiple concurrent development efforts.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly present complex topics to cross-functional and executive audiences.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a track record of delivering innovative and practical solutions.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with PC product development process, internal systems, and cross-functional collaboration models.Experience managing ODM/CM relationships and navigating supply chain or logistics challenges.Programming & Digital Skills: Hands-on experience with Python, Power BI, and other tools that enable digital transformation, automation, and data visualization in development workflows.Domain Knowledge: Working knowledge or experience in Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), thermal design, or commodity management is highly preferred.Awareness of market and technology trends in notebooks, system performance, and user experience design.
