Collins Aerospace is looking for an Plater II for our Miami, FL Landing gear Facility, one of the most rapidly growing facilities across the company. Under moderate supervision, the selected individual will perform mechanical blasting functions to prepare parts for induction to the following lines such as, chrome, nickel, cadmium, racking components, sandblasting, and stop-off and degreasing. Additional duties may be required.
This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.
Second shift: Monday - Friday 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM
What You Will Do
Prepare parts by masking or stop-off for plating and sandblasting.
Wax parts for plating, perform alodine, brush cad, cad strip & passivation
Sand blast parts for plating (chrome, nickel, cadmium and nital etch)
Measure component parts with thickness gauge and measuring instruments on various process lines.
Perform flash and hard chrome operation and racking of all minor components for chrome plating as well as bright cad and cad of minor components.
Perform degrease operation, pre and post plating function for NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), machine shop and grind shop.
Load and unload parts in ovens, documenting time, and date of each operation
Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Experience in reading blueprint and using measuring tools.
Previous or current experience in mechanical manufacturing or repair industry.
Qualifications We Prefer
Current or previous experience working on aircraft landing gears.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, Excel, and Microsoft word)
Experience using measuring instruments: Micrometers, thickness gauge, dial bores, calipers, amp meters, telescoping gauges
Previous experience using SDS manuals and using personal protective equipment.
