As a key contributor to the Corporate WIN Strategy, the Quality Engineer will lead and manage quality operations within the assigned Value Stream to ensure the highest standards of product and process quality. This role develops, implements, and maintains quality systems and procedures, leveraging statistical analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to drive defect reduction and operational excellence. The Quality Engineer serves as a technical expert and team leader, collaborating across functions including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality to meet and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Problem Solving & Corrective Action + Analyze quality performance and cost-of-quality using statistical and analytical tools + Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to resolve quality issues using systemic A3/8D approach. + Design and apply inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure product and process reliability. Quality Systems & Technical Aptitude + Develop, modify, and maintain quality standards, inspection plans, and technical quality plans aligned with contract and regulatory requirements. + Ensure all project and process control documentation complies with internal and external industry standards. Reporting & Data Analysis + Collect, interpret, and summarize quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements to plant and division staff. + Prepare detailed reports and training materials; lead training sessions to communicate quality expectations. Auditing & Compliance + Conduct internal and supplier audits to verify compliance with quality standards and ISO 9001 requirements. + Regularly interface with customers and suppliers to address quality performance issues and implement corrective actions. Continuous Improvement & Lean Principles + Apply Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques to enhance processes and product quality. + Support execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities. Customer & Supplier Engagement + Serve as a primary point of contact for quality-related customer and supplier interactions, including audits and corrective actions. Team Leadership & Development + Manage and mentor a team responsible for quality control, calibrations, receiving inspection, and customer returns. + Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous learning within the plant team while receiving and providing support on projects at division headquarters. Quality Management System (QMS) Support + Ensure all processes and documentation meet ISO 9001:2015 standards and support the Division’s quality objectives. + Provide quality input and guidance to stakeholders across the organization. Qualifications Required: + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline. + 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment. Preferred: + Proven experience managing quality teams or direct reports preferred. + Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent certification is highly desirable. + Strong proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab) and Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing tools. + In-depth knowledge of quality management systems principles (i.e., ISO 9001 latest edition) + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to train and influence cross-functional teams.
