Plant Manager II

We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions. **Evoqua, a Xylem brand, Plant Manager (Conroe, Texas) will oversee a 24/7 operations at our ion exchange regeneration facility. Deep understanding of people management, budget controls (P&L) supply management, ion exchange processes, resin handling, and chemical safety practices** **Our largest Plant, we generate 1.4 million cubic feet of product volume. We are also investing capital into the facility and upgrading production equipment!** **This individual will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the team, efficient production, maintaining high standards of environmental compliance, and leading a team of production and maintenance personnel. The Plant Manager will also play a key role in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and supporting product development in collaboration with EHS, Engineering, and Sustainability teams.** **People Manager- roughly 20 Direct Reports and 28 employees assigned** **Key Responsibilities:** **Operations Management:** **Proven experience implementing and managing** **Just-in-Time inventory systems** **to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower carrying costs.** **Oversee the day-to-day regeneration of ion exchange resins, columns, and systems.** **Optimize plant throughput, without sacrificing quality or yield while minimizing downtime and waste.** **Ensure adherence to production schedules, inventory targets, and customer delivery requirements.** **Partner with Service and Sales teams to drive initiatives to improve quality and customer experience** **Team Leadership:** **Lead and develop plant staff including supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.** + Skilled in **motivating and developing team members** , providing coaching, feedback, and performance management to support professional growth **Promote a strong culture of safety excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.** **Conduct performance reviews, training, and staff development initiatives.** **Develop and implement training programs to keep team members updated on trends and strategies.** **Reinforce Xylem’s commitment to a High Impact Culture - Inspired to innovate, Empowered to lead and Accountable to deliver.** **Process & Technical Oversight:** **Monitor ion exchange process parameters, resin regeneration cycles, and media handling systems.** **Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot process issues and support new product scale-up.** **Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and batch records.** **Maintenance & Reliability:** **Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production equipment, filtration systems, pumps, and reactors.** **Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime and ensure operational reliability.** **Compliance & Safety:** **Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local safety, environmental, and quality regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO standards).** **Conduct risk assessments and support audits and inspections.** **Implement and enforce safety programs, including training and incident investigations.** **Budget & Cost Control:** **Proven track record in** **developing, managing, and optimizing budgets** **to support strategic goals while maintaining financial discipline.** **Develop and manage the plant’s operating budget, capital projects, and cost-saving initiatives.** **Analyze operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.** **Develop and manage resource sustainability projects to reduce waste and water consumption.** **Qualifications:** **Preferred Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.** **7+ years of experience in chemical or water treatment plant operations (or closely related field)** **At least 4 years in a supervisory or management role with direct reports** **Familiarity with regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, REACH, etc.).** **Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.** **Experience with ERP systems, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies** **Strong background in Lean Manufacturing including process flow, 5S, inventory reduction and Value Stream Mapping.** **Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customer and across multiple levels of the organization** **Preferred Skills:** **Deep understanding of ion exchange processes, resin handling, and chemical safety practices.** **Hands-on experience with** **resin regeneration** **,** **acid/caustic handling** **, and** **water purification systems** **.** **Knowledge of ion exchange applications in** **industrial water treatment** **,** **pharmaceuticals** **, or** **semiconductors** **.** **Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.** **Xylem does not provide visa sponsorship for this position** **The estimated salary range for this position is $93,900.00 to $135,000.00 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.** **\#LI-JRT05** Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
