ADM’s Southern Cellulose Products plant in Chattanooga, TN is an innovative company operating in the specialty cellulose space providing dissolving pulp and paper products to clients in the industrial, food and pharmaceutical, and high-end paper markets. The Company is actively seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all operations related to a state-of-the-art process cotton linter pulp mill in Chattanooga, TN. The Plant Manager leads all operational aspects of the mill in accordance to organizational policies and procedures. This individual will demonstrate proven operational and technical leadership in the agro-processing, cellulosic bio fuels/chemicals, or dissolving wood pulp industries. This position will lead a motivated and talented plant operations team and will be responsible for the entire workings of the plant, including all plant operations and associated metrics including primarily quality (including third party certifications such as Halal, Kosher, Sustainability etc.) and cost, equipment improvement and capital projects and related support functions, including: labor relations, safety and environmental compliance, engineering, continuous improvement, scheduling and maintenance. The plant manager will have a strong understanding of how the process and each unit operations works and implement changes as necessary to improve functionality and operations. The plant manager ensures that operations goals are met and that the plant operates safely and meets established objectives. This position will also be responsible for overseeing most capital projects and engineering activities at the facility, which includes but is not limited to facility improvements, equipment improvements, new equipment installation and process engineering tasks.
This role will also be involved in the development of trial plans for the facility in conjunction with the Technical Team.

Role Definition:Maintain a well running, clean, safe and environmentally compliant plant.Provide an injury free work environment for employees, staff, contractors, and visitors through engagement, training programs, good work practices, company standards, and proactive elimination of exposures.Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.Plan, organize and direct the plant operations and improvement projects to meet process and product development objectives.Initiate plans and processes which improve plant capability to meet objectives through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.Assure attainment of business objectives that will exceed our customers’ expectations.Work to improve operational capabilities across the plant to meet developmental objectives.Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout all plant departments for safety leadership, problem solving and cost reduction.Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest operations and engineering concepts.Ensure the proper planning, design and implementation of capital and expense projects consistent with site strategy and FEL principles.Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.Participate in business planning and budgeting for the plant.Confer regularly with senior and technical management to ensure that operational objectives and business goals are being met.Work effectively across the organization with the various business functionsHigh energy level and commitment to deliver results requiredStrong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essentialAbility to manage project capital budgets.Requirements A minimum 15-year management, supervisory and technical experience related to plant operations with a minimum of 8 years in the agro-processing, cellulosic biofuel/chemical, or dissolving wood pulp industries.Ability to work self-directed (day to day).
