Plant Manager
**Job Duties:** + Champion a safety-first culture through systems, training, and safe behaviors. + Oversee safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, and cost improvements. Explore and analyze technical, production, and management disciplines to develop annual budgets and long-term plans. + Drive Business Continuity Plan (BCP) initiatives on site. Align with Corporate Procurement & Supply Chain teams as well as local teams to mitigate risk with single sourcing of raw materials as well as achieving target inventories for finished products. Provide direction for local materials management to manage proper inventories, improve costs, provide timely feedback to suppliers and drive supply contracts. + Build a strong leadership team across multiple functions, including production, engineering, supply chain, quality, Operational Excellence, and EHS. + Lead organizational planning and career development, coach and mentor team members. + Set and evaluate departmental and individual objectives to advance growth. + Drive effective collaboration with the plant operational teams as well as the community functions of Human Resources, Finance and others. + Deliver financial goals, capital plans, schedules, and workforce needs. + Drive continuous improvement through Lean, WCM, and innovation initiatives. + Manage plant financial performance (P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control). + Partner effectively with a unionized workforce to maintain positive labor relations and an engaged culture. + Act as a visible leader in the Fremont community, balancing employee, customer, and corporate needs with a focus on sustainability and long-term growth. + Execute strategic change initiatives, aligning plant priorities with corporate goals and market trends. + In this role, success means more than hitting production numbers. It’s about: + Team Building & Development: Cultivating a high-performing team, mentoring future leaders, and ensuring long-term workforce development. + Vision & Planning: Establishing a compelling vision for the Fremont facility and aligning teams to achieve it. + Commitment to Safety: Making safety integral to every decision and fostering a culture where safety is non-negotiable. + Business & Financial Acumen: Translating operational performance into sustainable business results, while anticipating risks and opportunities. + Change Leadership: Inspiring adaptability and resilience as you lead the plant through continuous improvement and transformation. + Customer Centricity: Ensuring quality, service, and delivery consistently exceed customer expectations. + Stakeholder Awareness: Balancing the needs of employees, customers, corporate leadership, and the community while enhancing CertainTeed’s reputation. **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or related field (Master’s preferred). + 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including 3+ years in plant or senior operations management. + Proven ability to lead in a unionized manufacturing environment. + Strong knowledge of safety, sustainability, and quality management systems. + Financial and business acumen with direct P&L responsibility. + Demonstrated success driving Lean, Six Sigma, WCM, or other continuous improvement initiatives. + Exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative leadership style. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 17% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $155,610 to $249,210.
