Plant Manager
Job Summary:
Our client in St. Marys, PA is looking for a Plant Manager. This is a Direct Hire position.
The Plant Manager is responsible for directing all aspects of operations through a team of functional managers and supervisors. Also develops and delivers strategies for continual improvement in the area of operational excellence that aligns with the business strategy for safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost, employee engagement and customer service. The PM ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction, while improving the efficient use of the workforce, materials and equipment.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for QDIPS (Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Safety) for the plant
· Responsible for the overall safety performance of the plant by ensuring that all areas of the plant operate in a safe and responsible manner through compliance with all safety and environmental procedures and policies.
· Serve as the primary leader of the plant in promoting continuous improvement in safety and environmental areas.
· Closely monitors the plant's communications, safety, training and employee engagement programs.
· Responsible for appointing a Management Representative who has overall responsibility and authority for assuring the establishment, implementation, and measurement of the quality system.
· Coordinates the development and establishes plant manufacturing objectives consistent with forecast sales and marketing objectives and production capacity.
· Responsible for coordinating the development of the Business Plan/AOP and annual capital programs with proper organizational assignments of responsibility and priority to achieve the plant's objectives.
· Participates in developing long range strategic plans for his business unit and is responsible for performance to these plans.
· Monitoring plant performance against the budget and takes necessary action through cost control methods to attain plant budgetary objectives and maximizes use of investment in inventories and facilities.
· Collaborate with Headquarters and participates in overall objective planning.
· Measures performance relative to production quality and quantity expenditures, utilization of manpower, facilities and material to identify and resolve problems.
· Take active participation in directing pricing and estimating policies in line with strategies and profit achievement.
· Develops plant policies and procedures consistent with overall Company Group policies and procedures.
· Support a culture that will achieve a high degree of morale in a motivated, job-oriented work atmosphere.
· Appraises the performance of subordinate managerial personnel and develops subordinates for promotional consideration, within an overall plant manpower plan. Selects subordinate managerial personnel as necessary.
· Participates in and directs plant's community relations role.
· Drives the Constraint Management Process.
Education and Experience:
· Requires Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent experience in Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.
· Minimal 10 years of experience supervising a staff in an automotive manufacturing setting.
· Minimal 5 years of experience managing and mobilizing cross functional teams through operational changes in process, environment and resources.
· Minimal 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing waste reduction techniques (6-S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Lead Time Reduction, Value Stream Mapping).
· Minimal 5 years of experience in efficiency improvements, quality improvements and project management.
· Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Also, background and fundamental knowledge of ERP systems.
· Minimum of 8 years Automotive industry background in manufacturing. (Will also consider Aerospace)
Preferred: Experience in Powder Metal or other automotive manufactured products.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card).
