Plant Engineer

We are currently seeking an electrically biased Plant/Project Engineer to become part of our team. This role is critical to ensure that the manufacturing equipment, services, buildings & infrastructure are maintained and improved to meet the current and future demands of the business. The role operates on a day shift.
Your main responsibilities will include;
+ Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and purchasing machines and equipment.
+ Supervising sub-contractors, ensuring project implementation to time and cost whilst complying with all Company and H&S requirements.
+ Creating project plans to support machine rearrangement, equipment installation, improvement, and cost reduction projects.
+ Identifying and implementing cost reduction and method improvement opportunities.
+ Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement works, collating receipts and raising purchase requisitions.
+ Carrying out plant engineering activities, with minimal supervision, across the site including building/electrical infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
+ Providing technical expertise, including data analysis, planning and execution to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation for the site.
+ Identifying and making improvements to the reliability of equipment to reduce reoccurring faults and downtime.
+ Assisting Maintenance undertaking fault finding across the plant and on the equipment.
+ Implementing and driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment.
+ Creation and maintenance of technical files for new and existing equipment.
This role will be based at Exeter full time, reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager
+ Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Controls Engineering with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant technical experience within an Engineering environment, however a development opportunity may be available for a candidate with other existing engineering qualifications and experience
+ Ability to identify and solve to root cause, repetitive reliability problems and write maintenance procedures
+ CAD experience, business system experience such as Oracle, CMMS, Automation experience would be advantageous
+ Ability to collect and analyse overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on critical equipment
+ Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Aware of Microsoft Project.
+ Multiskilled or experienced in both electrical and mechanical disciplines would be an advantage
+ Good communication skills both written and verbal.
