Plant Controller/Finance Manager (Manufacturing)

Based at our Sherman, Texas facility, you will have primary responsibility to establish and maintain an environment that ensures the integrity of the financial statements of the entity. This includes maintaining a system of internal controls, and managing all financial aspects of business including representation within the plant leadership team. You will act as the main contact with key customers, including the World Area, Business Unit, and Financial Shared Services, regarding financial expectations and results. You will lead a dynamic finance team by working on and managing financial strategic plans, budgets, month-end closing, trade capital management, and ad hoc requests. Additionally, you will be empowered to recommend and implement appropriate methods and techniques in financial analysis and reporting.
**As a Plant Controller/Finance Manager, your responsibilities will be:**
+ Leading plant financial reporting, budgeting, POR, and planning cycles, including monthly reviews and annual budget meetings.
+ Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial statements, reconciliations, and HFM reporting; safeguarding assets and ensuring compliance with Emerson policies and internal controls.
+ Implementing and enforcing strong cost controls, holding departments accountable for budget management and execution.
+ Overseeing inventory and manufacturing cost systems, including standard costing, inventory transactions, physical counts, variance analysis, and valuation.
+ Monitoring and maintaining internal control systems and financial processes.
+ Providing timely financial analysis and insights to management on operating performance versus objectives and emerging risks.
+ Evaluating capital expenditures and factory optimization projects, including capital appropriation requests, to ensure alignment with business unit goals.
+ Supporting trade working capital planning and day-to-day management, recommending improvements and risk mitigation actions.
+ Advising plant leadership on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and strategic initiatives.
+ Encouraging an atmosphere of teamwork, safety, creativity, trust, and respect. Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships across finance and other functional areas to enhance organizational effectiveness.

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ 8 years of experience in a manufacturing and cost accounting environment
+ Ability to think critically, highly driven and self-motivated with strong analytical and organizational skills
+ Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting systems, inventory control systems, and experience managing accounting procedures and controls
+ Management of salaried personnel
+ Skills in handling financial presentations and communicating with management personnel on all levels
+ Attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
+ Strong computer skills including experience with a major ERP such as Oracle/SAP, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
