Plant Controller
Description We are looking for a dedicated Plant Controller to join a dynamic manufacturing company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role combines hands-on financial management with strategic collaboration, offering the opportunity to be a key business partner to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing financial practices, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving cost-saving initiatives. Responsibilities: • Develop and present timely financial reports to senior leadership, ensuring compliance with company requirements. • Collaborate with management to make informed decisions that maximize profitability and minimize costs. • Oversee and set priorities for IT services to align with daily operational needs. • Establish and maintain performance metrics to monitor plant progress and identify areas for improvement. • Work with management to create and execute cost reduction strategies that align with business objectives. • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy within the accounting team and plant operations. • Prepare and reconcile journal entries and administer the credit program for customers. • Ensure accuracy in bill of materials and costings to reflect production operations effectively. • Review labor, material, and overhead costs to ensure proper reporting and analysis. • Develop and maintain a costing system that provides actionable feedback for the manufacturing process. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a focus on construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries. • Strong expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and cost analysis. • Proven experience with month-end closings and financial reconciliations. • Ability to manage job costing and ensure accurate cost allocations. • Proficiency in analyzing labor, material, and manufacturing overhead costs. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and enhance team performance.
