Plant Controller
Description *For more information, contact Jason Young @ 937/637-7759* Our client, a financially stable and growing manufacturing company is seeking a controller. The Controller is responsible for all aspects of accounting/finance for that plant. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements through the trial balance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Conduct detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast/standard), providing insights and recommendations. + Maintain and update standard costing systems, including cost roll-ups and inventory valuation. + Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for the plant, working closely with department heads. + Reconcile key general ledger accounts monthly and ensure alignment with supporting documentation. + Enforce and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies. + Provide oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll operations at the plant level. + Support the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and liaising with external auditors. + Partner with operations and plant leadership to drive cost savings and process improvements. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. + Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment. + Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting. + Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar). + Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. + High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
