Plant Buyer

The Plant Buyer is responsible for coordinating all local procurement activities of the manufacturing site. The role ensures alignment with the Corporate Procurement strategies defined by the European headquarters and collaborates closely with the Turkey-based Procurement office. The Buyer supports the deployment of group procurement initiatives, manages local procurement needs, and conducts negotiations on minor or low-to-medium spend categories.
This position plays a key role in ensuring cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and compliance with corporate procurement processes.
Main responsibilities:
Corporate Procurement ImplementationAct as the main contact at the Istanbul plant for all Corporate Procurement initiatives.Deploy and monitor the implementation of corporate purchasing plans across key spend families (packaging, raw materials, indirect spend).Ensure site-level compliance with corporate contracts, preferred suppliers, and purchasing policies.Coordinate with the Corporate Procurement team in Europe to provide data, feedback, and visibility on local performance.Local Procurement ActivitiesManage day-to-day purchasing activities for the plant, addressing operational needs in packaging, raw materials, and general expenses.Conduct local negotiations for minor spend categories to secure competitive pricing and optimized service levels.Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance monitoring in alignment with corporate guidelines.Resolve supplier-related issues impacting the plant (deliveries, quality deviations, invoices, logistics).Cross-Site CollaborationCollaborate closely with the Turkey-based Procurement office to ensure coherent purchasing strategies and avoid duplication.Share best practices, market insights, and supplier intelligence within the country procurement network.Contribute to harmonization of purchasing processes across Turkish sites.Analytics, Reporting & ComplianceTrack and report purchasing KPIs (savings, compliance rates, supplier performance, contract coverage).Provide timely updates to the Corporate Procurement team regarding implementation progress and risks.Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, financial procedures, and audit requirements.About you
Skills, Experience & Knowledge requirements:
University graduate from related fieldsMin 7 years of experience in Procurement, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG / chemical / pharmaceutical sectorsStrong negotiation and communication skillsAbility to work in a matrix organization (plant + country office + corporate)Proactive, structured, and capable of managing multiple prioritiesComfortable interacting with operational teams, suppliers, and corporate stakeholdersGood analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel/ERP toolsFluency in English and Turkish requiredWhy choose us?
