Job Opportunity:
As a Plant Accountant for multiple Consumer Facilities, you will be responsible for effectively reviewing and analyzing financial transactions to ensure accuracy of the Plant’s financial statements in compliance with GAAP principles. Additional responsibilities in your Accountant role include capitalizing assets, managing the process of asset requests, partnering with Legal and Sales to review and analyze customer contract terms, and contributing to the successful completion of special projects.

Performs month end close proceduresCreate journal entries and input into JD Edwards accounting systemPreparing journal entries and account reconciliationsPreparing and reviewing financial analysis on balance sheet accounts and P&LAssist in audit process through the preparation of schedules and communications with internal and external auditorsAnalyze Plant forecasts and budgets to assess excess spending, understand root cause, and identify opportunities and proposed resolutions for the businessWork well in a dynamic environment under tight deadlinesPerform special accounting projects as assigned Provide professional expertise and assistance in the continuous improvement process to enhance transactional processingComply with SOX controls and GAAP to ensure a solid internal control environment
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent Business Degree with preferred 2 years of related professional experience2 to 3 years of experience working in Accounting or a related field with working knowledge of GAAP principlesStrong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communications capabilities. Completereports as required on a timely basis
Ability to follow and understand established proceduresAble to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated informationHas initiative to take action, anticipate potential problems and address them earlyExcellent planning and organization skills. Being able to set priorities and schedule activities effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks and responsibilitiesAbility to work independently in a professional manner with team commitmentCommunicate with Business Unit personnel and establish relationships necessary for timely resolution of errors and exceptionsProficiency in use of Microsoft tools with intermediate to advanced Excel RequiredHigh comfort level with systems navigation JD Edwards & Hyperion experience a plusAssist with other areas as required
