Description We are looking for a Planning Technician to join our team in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This long-term contract position requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills to assist with administrative tasks and customer interactions at the front desk. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative environment and be eager to learn processes related to permitting, zoning, and city applications. Responsibilities: • Provide front desk support by welcoming visitors and addressing inquiries related to permits, zoning, and applications. • Assist customers by directing them to appropriate city planners or departments for further assistance. • Process application submissions and ensure all necessary documentation is received. • Perform routine administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and data entry. • Manage intake forms and ensure proper training on their use. • Handle incoming packages and deliveries efficiently. • Maintain office supplies by monitoring inventory levels and placing orders as needed. • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service. Requirements • Previous experience in administrative roles, preferably in a government or municipal setting. • Familiarity with the local area and its processes is highly desirable. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing workflows. • Friendly demeanor and a detail-oriented approach when interacting with the public. • Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry. • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues.
