Your Impact

The Planning Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising a high performing team responsible for ensuring product moves through the facility efficiently and effectively. This role helps ensure that performance goals, such as in stock, priorities, and yard volumes are achieved and exceeded by monitoring priorities and alerting the appropriate parties. This role also resolves idle demand due to product not allocating, allowing for product in demand to be shipped to the stores on time. This role monitors and receives calls from the stores and fields any questions regarding shipment dates of product (e.g., calls regarding special order sales (SOS) or store order express (SOE)).

What You Will Do

Drives compliance with daily safety requirements and builds/sustains a culture of safety among subordinates and peersAssists associates with HR related issues including questions/concerns with attendance, pay, benefits, job changes, voluntary terminations, I-9 verification, unemployment claims, and workplace accommodationsCommunicates clear expectations for associates and provides timely and constructive feedbackMonitors and manages associate performance, ensuring that associates are executing assigned tasks accurately and as scheduledMentors and builds relationships with associates, recording planned encounters when needed, and completing annual reviewsHolds associates in department accountable to expected behaviors and performance levelsMonitors daily demand requests and priority demand or special orders to ensure shipment; reviews purchase orders on the yard to identify any trailers that need to be received into inventory for cross-dock opportunitiesEnsures timely execution of priority requestsOversees daily plan for Operations inbound goalsResponds to calls and/or emails from stores requesting information on shipments (e.g., special order sales (S.O.S) or store order express (S.O.E.))Allocates S.O.E (warehouse/store order express) and S.O.S orders to ensure they are shipped by targeted date; checks these orders frequentlyPrepares shift turn-over documentationProcesses non-stock demand received at facilityProcesses and monitors all special requests communicated through Corporate TeamMonitors waves (i.e., OXD and picking) and communicates any concerns to Planning SupervisorMonitors and allocates Direct to Customer (DTC) and Transfer OrdersMonitors onsite and offsite storage trailers for demand needsMonitors and processes idle demand dailyPrepares and maintains training documentationManages and executes projects as assignedPlaces inbound trailers on hold in the yard (not to be received into inventory) if overstocked with productMonitors inventory allocation; ensures percentage of building is allocated per performance targetsResearches and closes waves (product to be picked) that are complete in the databaseAssists direct reports or Operations with any issues with product that arises (e.g., product not allocating)Communicates effectively with associates regarding business objectives or current issuesProvides associates with meaningful developmental opportunities and prepares them for upward promotion if interestedDiscusses and resolves issues with and between associatesParticipates in the hiring process by initiating job requisitions when appropriate and interviewing prospective candidatesEnsures associates receive proper training

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field OR 4 years of experience in distribution center/warehouse operations or related area

Preferred Skills/Education

Leadership experience with direct report responsibilityExperience mentoring and coaching othersExperience in a customer service roleExperience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problemsExperience managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously requiring a strong ability to prioritize and manage timeExperience with software applications such as Excel, Access or Lowe’s DMS system
