Planning & Strategy Lead for Learning, ATS/AMZL Process Learning

Head of Learning Strategy & Planning - ATS/AMZL Position Overview: The Head of Learning Strategy & Planning will shape and drive the strategic learning roadmap for Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) and Amazon Logistics (AMZL) process learning across EU Operations. This strategic role sits at the intersection of operational excellence and learning effectiveness, focusing on creating comprehensive planning frameworks and strategic approaches to ensure successful process learning implementation. Strategic Planning: As the planning lead for ATS/AMZL process learning, you will design and implement the learning roadmap that aligns with operational goals and business transformation initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in leading the planning and prioritization of process learning needs across multiple regions and operations types. The role demands a systematic approach to collaboration across a broad learning landscape, ensuring that the impact and reporting of learning programs is highly visible to the customer. Alongside the ability to create clear planning frameworks that reduce ambiguity. Stakeholder Management & Impact: You will partner closely with learning teams within AMZL/ATS and beyond. This involves developing strategic frameworks for new process rollouts and changes, ensuring effective learning integration across the network. Your role will be instrumental in leading the analysis of learning impact and effectiveness for process-based training, providing data-driven insights to senior leadership. Organizational Alignment: Working in close collaboration with global teams, you will ensure standardization of process learning while enabling necessary regional adaptation. A key aspect of the role involves overseeing strategic resource allocation and capacity planning for learning initiatives, ensuring optimal deployment of learning resources across the network. Required Experience & Capabilities: The ideal candidate brings deep experience in strategic planning and project management, coupled with a strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations. You should demonstrate proven success in developing and implementing strategic learning frameworks, with exceptional stakeholder management skills at senior levels. Experience in impact analysis and performance measurement is essential, as is a solid understanding of adult learning principles and process training methodologies. Location & Travel: The position will be based in one of our EU Corporate Offices (London, Munich, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, or Luxembourg), with regular travel required within EU. Key job responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Analysis Own and drive the annual/quarterly planning cycle for process learning initiatives Develop comprehensive planning frameworks that align learning needs with operational timelines Create standardized approaches for prioritizing learning requests across regions Build and maintain strategic dashboards to track learning implementation and effectiveness Program & Resource Management Lead capacity planning for learning resources across EU Create and maintain program roadmaps for major process learning initiatives Establish planning governance to ensure efficient use of learning resources Develop contingency plans for critical learning implementations About the team EU STEP brings together Supply Chain, Network Design, and Transportation Planning teams to improve end-to-end forecasting, network flow, planning, and execution. It also brings together our teams from across the business focused on our Operational Excellence pillars - Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES), Learning, Quality, Service, Sustainability and Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Field teams. This integration strengthens operations and execution while driving quality improvements and enhanced customer experience across the entire value chain. Basic Qualifications • Degree level qualified. • Proven ability to negotiate agreement across teams. • Confidence and competence in dealing with ambiguity and competing priorities • High degree of experience in creating, measuring and reporting out on relevant performance indicators • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills • A strong focus on internal customers’ needs and satisfaction, with an emphasis on demonstrating return on investment in training.
