The Role:

Working within the Planning & Material Control team, the P&MC Specialist’s primary function will be ensuring that sales orders are loaded and in place to meet all program deliverables but will have experience and be ready to support each role within the P&MC department such as Planning & Engineering and Material Control.

You will establish and control the parts requirements in support of your projects and see them through to delivery to the customers.  

You will be proactive and forward thinking and work with all supporting departments to ensure a robust material supply chain is in place to fulfil the customer expected deliverable requirements to support the Customers aircraft modification date. 

You will aspire to deliver the kit on time in full however will manage any identified shortages proactively with supporting departments to ensure they are delivered on time to meet Customer aircraft embodiment.

You will feedback into the wider team any such issues or concerns that may jeopardies any program deliverables.  The wider team or Integrated Project Team (IPT) consists of engineering, purchasing, supply chain and program management. You will establish and control the parts requirements in support of our projects and see them through to delivery to the customers.

You must be prepared to support and advise on the daily throughput of the full P&MC operation and recognise task constraints to propose solutions to address or improve.

This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to communicate status efficiently to all levels of personnel.

Responsibilities:

Loading of Customer sales order demand. 

Work with the Manufacturing Engineers and Material Controllers to ensure that the demand placed for parts into the ERP system is accurate, complete and in line with the customer requirements and each aircraft configuration variable.

Check parts, requested by the Engineering as Boeing supply, are included within contractual agreements as Boeing supplied items, and challenge/reject those that are not.

Liaise with the internal supply chains (IRC) to achieve On Time in Full (OTIF) delivery commitments.

Liaise with the purchasing team to ensure purchase orders are placed for parts and the delivery schedule meets the need dates.

Ensure, where applicable that stock is allocated in support of the BOM requirements.

Support the loading of demand for long lead items at the earliest opportunity.

Chase parts deliveries as required to achieve customer need date(s).

Ensure all related databases, for the specific Project “ID’s” (PID’s) are current and up to date.

Check to ensure all parts are available prior to releasing parts to the warehouse to be picked, packed and dispatched.

Notify the Seattle Distribution Centre (SDC) of “ok to pick” status.

Monitor picking/packing status to ensure on time parts shipment is achieved.

Monitor with supplier management, local supplier status.

Highlight risks, issues and opportunities at all stages of the project lifecycle.

Process unplanned demand requests for parts and materials, identified as urgent requirements, in support of projects.

Provide reporting of status and KPI’s for PM’s and Leadership as requested.

Attend meetings as necessary either in person or remotely.

Be prepared to support other roles in the department as necessary to ensure successful delivery of each program.

Manufacturing Engineering

Material Control (Config control and schedule updates)

Be involved in and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Occasionally work flexible hours to support team meetings, training, and coordination with international team members.

Be adaptable and work in a fast-paced environment.

Some travel for training and business developments may be necessary.

Required Experience:

Experience in sales and operational planning.

Engineering data and configuration control.

Be familiar with Aerospace conformity requirements and have consideration to them when performing daily functional duties.

Be able to recognise different material commodities to be able to make informed decisions on the responsibility of supply.

Have experience in describing and challenging make v buy definition from design data.

Have experience in managing multiple projects and the macro tasks required for loading and realising the fulfilment of customer orders

Experience in engineering change board control meetings to advise and understand potential changes and assess the impact of implementing those changes, if agreed.

The ability to read engineering drawings and the creation of bill of materials.

Experience in ERP & MRP systems.

Proven ability to solve problems creatively

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Must have good attention to details

Experience in identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
