Job Description NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position. As a Planning Manager at Nordstrom, you will partner with the Merch Director and Women’s Apparel Leadership team to define seasonal, annual and multi-year merchandising strategies to drive sales and meet KPI's for your categories. A day in the life… + Partner with the Merch Director to define seasonal, annual and multi-year strategies that identify future opportunities and trends and produce competitive advantage and superior results + Foster a comprehensive understanding of how the customer strategy translates to the financial and buy plans + Set the buy planning calendar and direct the timely creation, review, re-projection and execution of assortment plans + Effectively balance objective information with subjective inputs to give guidance for merchandising teams + Ensure assortment planners develop executable plans (at channel) to hit department KPIs (sales, margin, turn) + Support quantification of the buy, ensuring assortment planners create compelling assortment plans that realize the merchandise strategy + Ensure execution of strategies within the boundaries of financial plans, influencing financial plans as necessary + Act as a change leader to support company initiatives and ensure adoption by merchandising team + Identify and develop future merchant leaders to become superior partners in planning assortments and managers of their business You own this if you have… + Minimum 5 years’ experience in multichannel/omni-channel buying and/or planning roles required + Experience managing and supporting team of direct reports + Experience in a relevant merchandise category preferred + Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom required + Proficiency in MS Office suite required + Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required #LI-Hybrid #LI-CH1 We’ve got you covered… Our employees are our most important asset and that’s reflected in our benefits. Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $126,500.00 - $210,000.00 Annual This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
