The preparation, review and reporting of accurate project schedules and plans in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.

Accountable for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.

Accountable for ensuring schedules and plans are documented and auditable and that project schedules and plans are maintained and issued in a controlled manner. Supervises and manages the planning team in terms of delegating work, reviewing the work output of the team where appropriate, providing guidance and support, and managing the development of the planning team members.

Acts as the focal point for all aspects of planning support to the project team and client, managing the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of the planning team and shall be responsible for ensuring systems, processes, procedures and standards are maintained.

Accountable for identifying areas of best practice and driving continuous improvement within the planning team. May deliver the role as an individual or as part of a team as determined by the requirements of the project organization.

ResponsibilitiesActs as planning focal point for specific project scopesReview and maintain planning control structures developed and maintained in alignment with approved project work breakdown structure (WBS)Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling softwareMonitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycleLiaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirementsAnalyze and issue copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirementsAnalyze and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirementsReview and analyze updates to project plans and schedulesReview and analyze updates to project manpower requirementsAssess and communicate schedule impact of change notificationsMonitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performanceAttend internal project progress and performance status meetings as requiredLiaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedulesParticipate in schedule risk analysis as requiredLead and participate in project controls compliance and continuous improvement reviewsPlay a key role in the mentoring and career development of planning personnel

Accountable for ensuring that:

Project schedules are maintained in accordance with approved contract and project work breakdown structureProject plans and schedules are issued in accordance with contract reporting calendar and on an as-required basisAll project schedules are fully logic linked and show the critical path and total float for all activitiesThe project schedule is baselined at the time of approval by the client of funding for the projectAll project schedules contain resources in accordance with the corporate standardsWork packs delivery milestones are clearly identified within the project schedulesA standard set of agreed milestones are maintained within both the schedule and the cost reporting databaseQualificationsIncumbents will typically have a minimum 20 years relevant scheduling/planning experienceExtensive Middle East oil and gas experiencePrevious experience in major ADNOC EPC/EPCM projectsAdvanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levellingAdvanced knowledge of project execution procedures for schedulingAdvanced understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilitiesAdvanced ability to develop project schedules and plansAdvanced ability to prepare resource loading, progress and staffing plansExcellent understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending and what-if scenariosAdvanced understanding of project management principles and techniquesStrong understanding of cost management, change control, planning & risk analysis & managementSignificant prior experience in a senior planning role About the Company
