Planning Manager

Basic Qualifications

For this position to be successful, the incumbent should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.Minimum 4 years of experience in supply chain/logistics demand planning, while utilizing MRP and Sales & Operations Planning in a manufacturing environment.This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee. 

Preferred Qualifications

For this position to be successful, preference is given to candidates with: 

Knowledge of S&OP processes from end-to-end, including service and inventory strategy, product supply, deployment, and production planning.The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) and delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables. A high degree of interpersonal skills to motivate and influence others, including those not under their direct supervision. Demonstrated problem solving, systems thinking, project management, and team building abilities. Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies, such as Six Sigma. Expertise in using Oracle Planning. Expert level Excel skills.

Working Conditions

This position involves minimal exposure to risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. Work is normally performed in an interior work environment. While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing full PPE to protect from mobile equipment and hot materials when on the shop floor. 

This position requires minimal physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time, as well as occasionally kneeling.

This position also requires a willingness to maintain a moderately flexible work schedule and travel domestically, as requested. 

Primary Purpose of Job

Responsible for Materials Management, Production Planning and contributor to Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process. Reporting to Supply Chain Manager. 

Accountability Objectives

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Materials Management – raw materials planning, ordering and raw material inventory management Production Planning – job planning, release to production, task date management and WIP inventory managementS&OP process contributor – capacity planning, supply planning and inventory planning, culminating in financial forecast inputsIncludes revenue forecast, on time delivery and arrears projections and improvement, inventory projections and improvementPerforming other duties as assigned.
