Join our dynamic team as a Planning Engineer and take the lead in shaping project schedules and physical progress systems for a prominent player in the oil and gas industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Sines, Portugal, where your expertise will drive project success until October 2026.
Role Overview Develop a Schedule compliant with the selected execution strategy. Define and optimize the necessary resources. Define the Planning & Scheduling system (methods, procedures, time schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc.). Implement the Planning & Scheduling system (methods, procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc.). Define the Project breakdown structures. Plan to ensure the work fronts at site. Plan to mitigate risks and reduce costs. Obtain client approval of the Schedule Baseline. Secure client approval of progress claimed or milestones achievement for invoicing. Increase project team members' awareness of Project Milestones, main durations, and critical paths. Monitor project status, detect delays, and propose corrective actions as necessary. Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve Planning & Scheduling methods and contribute to planning department statistics. Skills & Qualifications Power BI: Advanced knowledge for data visualization and reporting. Fluent in English and Portuguese. Construction Planning: Expertise in planning methodologies specific to construction projects. Primavera: Advanced knowledge of Primavera Project Planner for scheduling. Microsoft Project: Proficiency in Microsoft Project for project management. Education & Experience Education: Engineering degree or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 5 years in the oil and gas industry (onshore/offshore &/or subsea). Knowledge: Advanced level of knowledge in EPCm work processes; experience in cost control is a plus.
