Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and daily management for the Planning Department.

Oversee and manage department budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability and alignment with funding agreements.

Coordinate the development and implementation of comprehensive organizational plans, goals, and objectives.

Serve as a primary liaison for developers, business entrepreneurs, and various municipal, state, and federal agencies.

Research, compile, and present technical information to executive leadership, department directors, and community groups.

Develop and coordinate strategies for project financing and grant submissions.

Mentor and develop staff, providing clear position descriptions, performance evaluations, and professional development plans.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Urban and Regional Planning theory and Rural Development.

Proven experience in grant writing and successful grant application/submission/awards.

Proficiency in the electronic submission of state and federal grants.

Ability to work effectively within diverse community settings and respect regional cultural nuances.

Experience in complex budget tracking and the production of detailed fiscal reports.

Leadership skills with the ability to mentor staff to manage future departmental expansions, such as Real Estate divisions.

Education:
Masters

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
Education: A Master???s degree in Urban and Regional Planning (or a related discipline) with at least 5 years of senior-level administrative leadership experience; OR a Bachelor???s degree in the same fields with at least 7 years of senior-level administrative leadership experience.

Executive Management: Demonstrated experience in an executive-level management role with responsibility for multiple functions and strategic goals.

Governmental Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working within a governmental or public entity.

Leadership: At least three years of experience at a Manager or Director level.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver complex data presentations to various audiences.

Compliance: Ability to review and develop program operations in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid driver???s license.

Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends when required for community or project needs.
