Job Title: Planning Coordinator
Job Description
The Planning Coordinator supports production planning and control through accurate data entry, maintenance of bills of material, and creation of work orders within an ERP system. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and an interest in learning more about manufacturing planning, scheduling, and procurement. The position helps reduce a current backlog of planning tasks and contributes to smooth production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Enter and maintain accurate data in the ERP system to support production planning and control activities.Maintain and update bills of material (BOMs) to ensure they reflect current product and process requirements.Create and release work orders in the ERP system in alignment with production needs and schedules.Apply basic planning concepts such as work orders, BOMs, routings, operations, lead times, and due dates in daily tasks.Manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Support production control leadership by following direction, updating trackers, and helping keep planning documents current.Assist with reviewing and cleaning up planning-related documents and trackers while supporting daily work.Collaborate with planners, schedulers, purchasing, and other functions to ensure data accuracy and material availability, as experience allows.Contribute to reducing backlog in planning activities created by internal transitions and upcoming retirement within the planning team.Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and colleagues at all levels within the manufacturing environment.Essential Skills
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.Understanding of basic planning concepts, including work orders, bills of material (BOMs), routings and operations, lead times, and due dates.Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Experience working in ERP systems; Oracle preferred, but experience with SAP, JD Edwards, or NetSuite is also acceptable.Beginner-level Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, and basic formulas.Team-oriented mindset and openness to direction from production control leadership.Reliability and consistency, with the ability to maintain a regular work schedule within flexible hours.High school diploma.Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.Ability to communicate respectfully with individuals at all levels in the organization.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience assisting with production schedules, capacity planning, or material availability checks.Experience supporting planners or schedulers in a manufacturing or production environment.Prior exposure to purchasing, scheduling, or procurement activities.Understanding of how changes in one part of the planning process can impact multiple documents and processes.Experience cleaning up and maintaining planning trackers or similar documentation.Experience with Oracle ERP is preferred; experience with any ERP system is valued.Excel skills such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP are beneficial, but not required for entry-level candidates with relevant experience.Open to candidates with data entry experience who are motivated to learn more about planning, scheduling, and procurement.Interest in growing into a production planner role over time.Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing environment as part of a small, collaborative team of approximately three people. The team culture is easy-going and supportive, with a focus on mutual respect and clear communication across all levels of the organization. Work hours are flexible within a general window of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an 8-hour shift selected within that range. Initial training typically runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the first two weeks and is hands-on to help you quickly learn systems and processes. The environment can experience high-stress periods due to production demands, so the ability to stay organized and calm under pressure is important. The dress code allows jeans and an appropriate shirt, with steel-toe boots required; boot costs are reimbursed. The position offers the potential to transition into a production planner role in the future based on performance.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
