Job Title: Planner/Scheduler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Planner/Scheduler to support our operations. In this role, you will interpret work specifications and drawings, formulate and develop resource-loaded schedules, and create time-oriented work package networks using Microsoft Project, EVM Software, and the Integrated Management System. You will also maintain project status through regular updates and interviews.

Responsibilities

Interpret work specifications and drawings for project planning.Develop and manage resource-loaded schedules and time-oriented work packages.Utilize Microsoft Project, EVM Software, and the Integrated Management System effectively.Maintain project status through regular updates and interviews.Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure project timelines are met.Provide direction and support to task teams while observing performance.Ensure adherence to quality assurance, testing, and engineering standards.Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success.

Essential Skills

Knowledge of Navy ship operations, maintenance, and repair.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, manuals, and sketches.Effective writing and editing skills.Proficiency in standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools.Excellent PC skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Primavera 6.Thorough understanding of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS).High School Diploma or equivalent.US Citizenship.Ability to acquire a DBIDS credential.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in shipyard or maritime environments.NAVSEA experience preferred.Familiarity with supply chain, shipyard, maritime, and construction environments.Proficiency in master scheduling and production scheduling software.Direct and confident personality, capable of asserting expectations in challenging environments.

Work Environment

This role requires working onsite during the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential coordination with second shift personnel. The work environment involves exposure to fumes, irritants, laser light, toxic chemicals, and potential electrical shock in industrial or shipboard settings. The position requires frequent movement throughout the yard, including maneuvering stairs, ladders, and ramps, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Adaptability to rapid changes in microclimates and industrial processes is necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
