Planner - Off Price (Hybrid) (New York Office)

The role of the Off-Price Planner is to maximize gross margin dollars & inventory productivity by providing the overall financial direction of a category or department(s). The Off-Price Planner is accountable for the development and implementation of merchandise plans by focusing on inventory, clearance, and opportunistic buys. Off-Price Planners are primarily responsible for developing seasonal merchandise financial plans, pricing strategies and assortment optimization. Off-Price Planners also work with Buyers in assortment and buy planning by facilitating layering of assortments and validating the profitability of purchases. In-season, Off-Price Planners provide in-depth analysis of product performance and make recommendations to maximize business opportunities. The Off-Price Planner will forecast sales and stock needs by monitoring inventory and establishing pricing and discount strategies.

Essential Functions:

Develop and execute merchandise financial plans that support the merchandise strategies while achieving corporate financial goals both for the short term (seasonal) and long term (multi-year).Develop inventory plans that deliver quick product turnover without long-term commitment while adjusting strategies based on market fluctuation and inventory availability.Optimize profitability by setting competitive price points in a highly competitive marketAnalyzes business to the lowest level to identify opportunities in sales, inventory and margin by store, department, and classDevelop the assortment plan and the initial buy plan through use of hind sighting and profitability toolsLead Monthly Forecast process to manage business in season and maximize opportunities through product lifecycle managementLeverages open-to-buy process to manage business in-season and maximize opportunitiesCollaborate with Buying Partner and Allocation Team to reconcile merchandise and by-door strategies with store level opportunitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with Buying Partner and vendors, while building a presence with new and existing vendors within the outlets and companyTravels to all necessary work related trips, i.e. markets and store tripsRequires designated hybrid in-office work schedule

 
Education:     

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of comparable experience preferred    

 
Work Experience:

Works effectively with staff and Divisional/BSS management to achieve sound financial and merchandising solutions based on analysis, input and experience4-6 years retail experience required    1-3 years merchandise or financial planning required

Pay Range
$90,000 - $155,000

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
