Ensures performance to the master production schedule to achieve division objectives by planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules and material requirements to ensure the correct flow of approved materials timed to meet production and customer needs. + Meets customer requirements by scheduling and expediting orders and/or stock transfers. + Acts as a primary customer contact for production status, schedule changes, shipping information and returned material. May adjust master schedule in response to customer feedback/requirements and manufacturing capacity. + Identifies variety of raw material and component requirements for production from engineering/production specifications and schedules of diverse or difficult scope and complexity. + Ensures accurate item master file and bill of material. + Advises team of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Escalates issues through proper escalation channels as provided. + Evaluates, recommends, and works with the team to implement changes to the planning process as part of a continuous improvement mindset, including but not limited to creating inventory strategies and analyzing product lead times. Lead Kaizen events as necessary. + Guide the Starpoint teams for all Delivery functions in building. + Coordinates cross-functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract Administration to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production process and consistent information regarding status and priorities. + Accountable for all the Delivery sides of the Team Improvement Boards to track metrics and create positive change. + Valuates materials supply and demand. Prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production/purchase of components or parts to support a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirement. + Leads yearly Physical Inventory for specific location. + Coordinates material movement between internal work and storage areas and/or outside processing or suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed. + Analyzes inventory usage, scrap, and shrinkage. Recommends and works with team to implement any appropriate actions to minimize loss, reduce inventory, and/or increase inventory turns. + Analyzes proposed changes in methods, schedules, and materials. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. + Resolves problems concerning shipments, shortages, engineering changes and cancellation of orders. + Complies with policies and procedures in Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM). + All other duties as assigned by manager. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Operations or related field required • 4+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment required. • APICS certificate preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing resources planning theories/systems, principles, software, and industry practices. • Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement methods (e.g., pull systems, process mapping, JIT). • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements related to production control.
