Mayport Base Operating Support (MBOS)

Planner Roles and Responsibilities

·     Helps develop job plans, deliverables and estimates for maintenance and repair tasks.  Ensures material and tools are available, appropriate craft and skill level are identified, job plan is adequate to identify all task for accomplishment of the work and safety requirements (OSHA, Site specific safety requirements) are identified prior to work commencing.

·     Understands the interrelationships of trades and how work is performed in a multi-craft environment so that the appropriate work is performed first, and follow-on work is accomplished accordingly.

·     Works closely with Installation Facility Supervisors/Managers, site maintenance personnel, Government and subcontractors to coordinate recurring and non-recurring maintenance activities at these sites which primarily include office, industrial (Utilities, and Hangars are examples) and warehouse facilities. 

·     Works with team members to provide meaningful schedules and clear estimates to the estimators for facilities maintenance projects performed at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, Marine Corps, Support Facility – Blount Island (MCSF-BI) Jacksonville, Florida; and the outlying areas supported by these commands.

·     Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, and attends pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required content of estimates & provide complete conceptual estimates and estimates prepared with incomplete plans to carry through to final estimates.

·     Other duties assigned by supervisor.

US Citizenship is required.  Planning experience in more than one of the following fields\:  Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing/Pipefitting, Utility Systems, High Voltage Electricity, Carpentry, and/or Painting.  Two (2) years college or vocational training in area of specialty desired or five (5) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education/ experience for total of five (5) years.

Knowledge of estimating, and cost control Knowledge of estimating with P&ID drawings Knowledge of Microsoft Office with a proficiency in Excel Understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards, estimating techniques, scheduling, project delivery and cost control Good communication and interpersonal skills

Inside - 50% / Outside - 50% Extreme (hot/cold) temperatures involved - Minimally Travel/Transportation Requirements - Limited to the site locations identified above

Criticality of Attendance

Regular Days - 5 Days Monday - Friday Shift, 1st 0700 - 1530 Necessity for Regular Attendance - Yes Urgency for Punctuality - Yes *
