About the role
New Porgera Limited (NPL) is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Senior Shutdown Planners. The Senior Shutdown Planner's primary responsibility is to ensure that planned Shutdown maintenance activities are effectively organized, including resources, parts, equipment, and tooling. Additionally, they will coordinate scheduling with production and maintenance to ensure that work proceeds safely, efficiently, and consistently
The successful candidates will be part of the Fixed Plant Maintenance Department. In this role, you will:
Responsible for Overseeing Shutdown Planning and Scheduling in consultation with Fixed Plant Maintenance and Operations, while working closely with Reliability Engineers and other key stakeholders.
Long term plan for Plant Shutdowns ensuring resources, parts, materials, equipment and services are available when required.
Define with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering sections required shutdown work scopes. Ensuring that all inspections, recertification, repair, overhaul and modifications requirements are included in such scope of work.
Provide significant input into the development of maintenance strategies to ensure that PM’s will deliver desired equipment performance measures.
Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & Procedure
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences
A Recognized Diploma or Degree qualification in Engineering is highly desirable
Experience in Mining, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industry environments
A Recognized trade certificate with extensive experience in a similar role is essential
Sound knowledge of maintenance planning, budgeting, job duration estimation and scheduling principles and procedures
Strong knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection regulations, and a commitment to safety in all aspects of planning
Minimal of 8 years’ experience in Planning or relevant technical area desirable
Sound knowledge & experience using (CMMS) Computerized Maintenance Management Systems with strong preference of the use of SAP.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).

Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National Staff position, a site-based role on a Fly in Fly out arrangement with rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off, they must reside in Mt Hagen, Lae or Port Moresby. Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage) and have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
