We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMB team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Placement Manager will play a crucial role in matching clients' insurance needs with appropriate carrier coverage by utilizing market practices, pricing, and underwriting policies.
We will count on you to:
Use significant risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that meet client needs.Implement the Placement strategy to achieve growth goals and provide exceptional client service.Develop the go-to-market strategy and articulates the value of placement function and participates within pricing of services as applicable.Facilitate submission of coverage specifications and obtains quotes from carriers based upon the “assist, advise, and assume” transaction model.Create and maintain relationships with practice, insurance markets, clients carriers and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service.Advise on changing insurance and risk management market conditions and informs client executives, client advisors, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of products/coverage.Interface closely with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production.Drive senior placement/technical support activities on assigned accounts, such as ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, to ensure contract execution as required.What you need to have:
University degree in a related discipline or other relevant qualifications.8+ years' experience in working with life and health products and related services.A solid understanding of the overall life and heath industry; strong track record in client and vendor management.Strong project management skills. Ability to manage project scope and deliverables independently while ensuring project completion is within budget and on time.Self-initiative in the insurance/ health sector and understand industry trends. Self-motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team. Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with team members.People management skills. Foster teamwork, coach and motivate colleagues to achieve results, support attraction and retention of colleagues.Strong language skills in English and Cantonese.
